VESPEL®
Vespel® is a high-performance polyimide material, formed from resin, by DuPont. Polyimide materials are characterized by a ring-shaped molecular structure that contain nitrogen. It is one of the highest performing engineering plastics currently available today. Vespel® does not melt and will operate continuously from low, cryogenic temperatures up to 550°F (288°C), with spike up to 900°F (482°C). Vespel® backup rings consistently exhibit superior performance in a variety of applications requiring low wear and extended life in extreme service.
